Question:
Assalamu alaykum,
If you could please shed light on the following question: we heard that the Murabitun-movement and its founder, Abdulqadir Dallas from Scotland, were of the Darqawi-Shadhili-Qadiri silsila. However, people mentioned that there seemed to have been some controversy in which Mawlana Shaykh Nazim was criticized by that person in a very inappropriate way and that doubts were raised if he (Abdulqadir) was a (true) shaykh.
However the case might be I have friends who belong to that movement. They were dear to me and I felt close to them (they live abroad and I haven’t seen them since maybe three years). I was thinking of taking bayat of tabarruk through them, if we get to meet again, but since the above incident was mentioned it is not clear if this is plausible at all.
Shukran katheeran wassalam
