Advice

Question:

Salam aleykoum,
First of all, I’d like to mention that I’m not a follower of any tariqats even if I participated in some meetings of zikr (few years ago, I participated in some reunions of zikr in Paris (Naqshbandi and Qadiri). I’m deeply aware of Sufism as a heart of Islam. So I’d like to know if I’m allowed to recite some Names of Allah (to cool down my mind because sometimes I feel really angry) or “La Illaha illa Llah.” and unless I’d really like to meet a “God’s friend” who will be able to integrate a tariqat.

Thanks and Salam aleykoum!!!

Answer:

wa ‘alaykum salam,
Insha-Allah you have permission for both, as they are recommended in the Sunnah.
