Following a convention in my family I took bayiah in Chishtiah order at the age of around 13. Now I’m 41, my shaikh has died and I have no connection with the order. Is it permissible in my case to take bayiah elsewhere?

Walaikum assalam,
Not only it is permissible, it is recommended. A mureed needs a living shaykh to help guide him in this world.
