Permissability of attending zikr remotely on phone

Question:

I lead zikr every Thursday and Saturday. My 85 year old aunt started attending over the phone since one month. (Her mother was an Aulia & Ahle bait), She does it all: listens to Sh Hisham’s sohbet; participates in Khatm-e-Khwajagan, dua and nasheed. Is remote attendance over the phone permissible?

She lives far from my home and cannot travel to zikr centers. She also enjoys my rendering of zikr…. She was bedridden and saw disturbing images. Yesterday, she called me and told me how she can walk without help and has improved greatly.

Answer:

Without question it is permissible. Mawlana Shaykh Hisham has gone to great lengths to make spiritual guidance accessible to the farthest ends of the earth through technology, which is its best use yet.
