Question:
We love to use the word “love” so often and for so many different things. But what truly is it? I find it difficult to not see it as a selfish thing. It makes us feel good & happy and is less about the beloved. Is it possible to love in a selfless way?
Answer:
The higher the object the higher the love. “O Allah I am asking You for Your love, and for love of those who love You, and for deeds that bring me closer to You” (Hadith).
