Question:
Asalam alaykum,
I would like to ask Maulana Hisham about the rewards that we get from Allah. I always get blessings in the form of small gifts or something that friends give me. I have understood this as rewards from Allah because of my good deeds and intentions. I get such blessings every now and then. I’m wondering if Allah is blessing me with such rewards in this life- does this mean I have none or very little reward in the hereafter/ after Judgement Day?

Allah swt said:
وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ الْأُولَى
{for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! } (Surat ad-Duha, 93:4)
and Allah said:
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
{And there are men who say: “Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!”} (Surat al-Baqara, 2:201)
