Question:
Salam alaikum respected scholars, =)
I just would like to know if there are any ahadith or ayats that support saying Al-Fatiha before committing to any general action or occasion, or for making things easier for someone?
I can imagine intuitively why this would be a virtuous act, in the sense that the Fatiha (Opening) is a Dua3 to guide others and ourselves, but is there anything else specifically from the Sunnah? or is this an extraction of a general principal?
Answer:
`Alaykum Salam,
In Abu al-Shaykh’s book al-Thawab from `Ata’:
“When you are in need of something, recite the Fatiha to the end and by
the will of Allah your need shall be fulfilled.”
Mulla `Ali al-Qari mentions it in al-Asrar al-Marfu`a then says:
“So then this is a basis for what people commonly believe when they recite the Fatiha for fulfilling their needs and accomplishing their projects.”
