some advice

Question:

as salamou alaikoum dears brothers from eshaykh may Allah raise your maqam,
i would like to know, please, my wife is pregnant and her midwife prescribed her some pills because she has iron deficiency, and others for belly pain, but what Mawlana Sheikh Nazim and Sheikh Hicham say about taking this kind of pills? thank you very much for answering

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

As Mawlana Shaykh Nazim often recites:

فَاسْأَلْ بِهِ خَبِيرًا

“fas’al bihi khabeera” {Ask thou, then, about Him of any acquainted (with such things)} (25:59)

Since you are going to this expert, the midwife, to deliver your baby’s child, then it behooves you to follow her advice, unless there is something haram or dangerous involved. And since the doctor-patient relationship involves trust, if you feel there is a problem, discuss it with her.

and Allah knows best,

Taher Siddiqui
