Assalam alaikum. Ignorant as I am about history, I was browsing the internet on information about Karbala and specifically Yazid, since many Muslims are now defending him. I came across the http://www.imamreza.net/eng/imamreza.php?id=5929 site. Assuming it to be legitimate and Barelvi, I was stunned by the information on Yazid. I realize that Allah’s Prophet is Rahmatul lil Alameen and he will do shafaa for the big sinners of his ummah, but aside from that what is one supposed to think?? Why are people defending him and saying that Karbala was a political battle?? Please shed some light on this.

Imam al-Ghazali (Allah have mercy on him) states that it is even impermissible to say that Yazid killed or ordered the killing of Sayyiduna al-Husain (Allah be pleased with him) let alone curse him, as attributing a Muslim to a sin without decisive evidence is not permissible. (See: Sharh Bad al-Amali by Mulla Ali al-Qari, P. 123-125).
He further states:
If it is established that a Muslim killed a fellow Muslim, then the understanding of the People of Truth is that he does not become a Kafir. Killing is not disbelief, rather a grave sin. It could also be that a killer may have repented before death. If a disbeliever dies after repentance, then it is impermissible to curse him, then how could it be permissible to curse a Muslim who may have repented from his sin. And we are unaware whether the killer of Sayyiduna Husain (Allah be pleased with him) died before or after repentance.
Therefore, it would best be to abstain from cursing Yazid, as there is no reward in cursing him, rather one should abstain from discussing about him altogether and concentrate on more practical aspects of Deen. May Allah Almighty give us the true understanding of Deen, Ameen.

Assalam alaikum. Ignorant comme je suis à propos de l’histoire, j’ai décidé de chercher sur internet des informations à propos de de Karbala et plus particulièrement à propos de Yazid, vu que maintenant de nombreux musulmans le défende maintenant. Je suis tombé sur ce site : http://www.imamreza.net/eng/imamreza.php?id=5929 En assumant qu’Il s’agit d’un site correct et Barelvi, j’ai été stupéfait par les informations à propos Yazid. Je comprend que le Prophète est Rahmatul lil Alameen et qu’il fera le shafaa pour les plus grands pécheurs de sa ummah, mais sans prendre cela en compte que devons nous penser ? Pourquoi les gens le déféndent et disent que Karbala était une bataille politique ? Merci de m’éclaire à ce sujet.

Imam al-Ghazali (qu’Allah lui fasse miséricorde) a déclaré qu’il était inacceptable, de maudire Yazid ou de dire qu’ il a tué ou ordonné l’exécution de Sayyiduna al-Husain (qu’Allah soit satisfait de lui), de la même façon qu’il est inacceptable de dire qu’un musulman a commis un pêcher sans une preuve formelle. (See: Sharh Bad al-Amali by Mulla Ali al-Qari, P. 123-125).
Selon la compréhension des gens de la vérité, même en ayant la preuve formelle qu’un musulman à tué un autre musulman, cela ne fait pas de lui un Kafir car le meurtre n’est pas de la mécréance mais un pêcher grave. Il est également possible que le meurtrier se soit repenti avant sa mort. Lorsqu’un mécréant se repentit avant de mourir, il est interdit de le maudire donc comment maudire un musulman qui s’est repentit d’avoir commis un pêcher. Et nous ne savons pas si l’assassin de Sayyiduna Hussayn (qu’Allah soit satisfait de lui) est mort dans le repentir ou non.
Par conséquent, il faut mieux s’abstenir de maudire Yazid car il n’y a aucun bienfait à le faire. La meilleure chose a faire est de s’abstenir de discuter de lui mais plutot se concentrer sur la pratque de la religion (Deen). Qu’Allah Tout Puissant nous donne la bonne compréhension duDeen, Ameen.
