Assalam-Alaikum:
Since everything can be confirmed with tasawwuf, I wondered if watching television is haram? Sometimes, I think it is, but I am not sure. I will be greatly relieved to hear what Mawlana’s opinion on this matter is: Is T.V. haram or not?

In Islam everything is allowed unless explicitly forbidden. Entertainment is an important activity and as such is allowable. This of course should not keep a person away from Dhikr and getting closer to Allah by spending too much time with TV.
