Question:
Asalaamu alaikum respected Shaykhs and scholars,
I have seen that many people have written requesting permission to make the dua of Hazrat Dawud (as) to facilitate a marriage, etc. I would like a dua that will open my mother in law’s heart to me, to make her love me. Her hatred for me (for reasons I do not know) is a source of great distress in my life to the extent that I even considered separating from my husband because of it. I need something to recite to relieve the problem and to make my life more tranquil, as her negativity affects my marriage, my young children, and my relations with the rest of my in laws. Can the dua of Hazrat Dawud be used for this purpose?
