heresy

Question:

Salamalaikum
Unfortunately where I live, in my opinion the tariqa takes the form of a heresy. (I even started going to a Wahabi Friday prayer for a while as I couldnt justify going to their Thursday night zikr and not a Wahabi Jumma).

Although I showed non-judgemental acceptance, I was ostricised aggressively for failing to conform to their heretical version of Islam (Path no Law), just like the Wahabis -both groups being the 2 polarities of heresy.

Is the tariqa making sacrifices to small pockets of heresy for certain reasons?

Their numbers are growing and Im getting weary of resisting the uphill struggle. Im even starting to associate them in my mind with MSN which isnt good, and Ive starting having thoughts of a tariqa change -which isnt good either. Please can you advise?
Ps/ What do I say to local Muslims who ask about the mureeds here and tariqa?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam

Don’t throw out the baby with the bath water.

It sounds like you need to re-vitalize your belief in Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani by paying a visit to him or to Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, or another of his authorized caliphs around the world.

The tariqah in reality is a reflection of the state of the Ummah and so you find murids of all kinds and levels of practice are there throughout the world. Some may follow Shari`ah strictly and confrom to Ahl as-Sunnah wa ‘l-Jama`ah firmly, others, lacking daily or monthly guidance from the Shaykhs, fall to one side or the other.

Beware of attending Wahabi sermons and lectures, for as Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani has transmitted to us from Grand Grandshaykh Shaykh Sharafuddin ad-Daghestani (q), “listening to their teachings opposed to shaykhs and tasawwuf will bring one year’s darkness on the heart.”

As to what to say to local murids, avoid confrontation, but keep to what you know in your heart to be true.

and Allah knows best.
