The Baha’i faith

Question:

I initiated as a Naqshbandi Sufi last year, then later joined with the Baha’i faith. The Baha’i faith is persecuted by Muslims in some parts of the world. Baha’is are imprisoned or killed. But it’s also a religion of honor, reverence, and glory to Allah. Baha’is prays towards peace. Why are Baha’is treated that way? What is the Baha’i way with Islam?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

It is sad to hear how Bahais are treated, and it is the responsibility of the government in each country to protect its citizens from persecution due to belief, ethnic origin, and so forth.

While the Bahai way is the way of peace according to what they teach, it is still outside of Islam as they claim that Bahaullah was a prophet after Sayyidina Muhammad (s), and this is not correct in Islamic `aqidah for Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is the Final Prophet of Allah. With all our respect to all beliefs and faiths, the Bahai way is not Islam and not part of Islam.
