Question:
Bismillah wassalam’aleykum
1-Was Mukhtasar Minhadj al Qasidin really wrote by Ibn Qudama Al Maqdisi?
Shaykh GF Haddad seems to disagree here:
The Minhaj was epitomized in one volume by Najm al-Din Abu al-`Abbas Ahmad ibn Qudama (d. 742).

2-Is Mukhtasar Minhadj al Qasidin a sound book?A good book to benefit from for Sunni laymen muslims?
wassalam,
Souphienne.
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam
The Mukhtasar (“Abridgement”) is by Najm al-Din Abu al-`Abbas Ahmad ibn
Qudama al-Maqdisi (d. 742), not to be confused with the major Hanbali
jurist Muwaffaq al-Din Ibn Qudama (d. 620), and consists in the
abridgment of Ibn al-Jawzi’s Minhaj al-Qasidin wa Mufid al-Sadiqin (“The
Road of the Pursuers and the Instructor of the Truthful”), itself an
abridgment of Imam al-Ghazzali’s Ihya’ `Ulum al-Din, one of the
masterpieces of Sufism; hence these books are all recommendable. See
