It is a misconception to think that magic no longer exists because science is so advanced. Science is simply knowledge, organized into different aspects. Knowledge of words and how to manipulate them for evil purposes is also a science better known as the black arts. And Allah warned us in His Holy Book about it, and His Word is not limited by time nor space. And Allah swt revealed what is protection from sihr in Surat al-Falaq. You only need ask around to find someone affected by another person’s evil spell. Most of magic is done by people against others out of pure envy, and envy itself has power to harm (known as `ayn, or the evil eye), simply through the negative energy it casts on the victim – may Allah protect our hearts from envy.
