Can I join an Islamic jihad group?

Shaykh Gibril said:
“When the Muslims go back to salat, then Allah — if He likes — will give them back jihad in its correct and true understanding.
“First things first. The Prophet said — Allah bless and greet him:
‘The foundation (asl) of this matter [Religion] is Islam. Its pillar (`amud) is prayer (salat). And its absolute culmination (dharwatu sinamih) is jihad.'”
Jihad is not something that anyone may declare and go fight, here and there, rather it is something based on the rulings of Islam and the order of the Leader(s) of Islam and Muslims.
We recommend to go and study Islam with venerable scholars such as found in al-Azhar, Sham and Tarim, Yemen.
We also recommend to read the book “Jihad: Principles of Leadership in War and Peace” by Shaykh Hisham Kabbani.
