What is the proper way to take Fal from Qur’an? Do our Mashaykh use this practice? If they do, how is their method?

wa `alaykum salam,
Let a pious knowledgeable person open the mus-haf and read the first verse of the top of the page or on which the eyes first fall. If unclear read the 7th verse after that. If still unclear, close mus-haf and repeat.
