Question:
Respected Shaykh,
I want to know about the sohbat of our beloved shaykh Nazim (19 Nov,2010) in which he said that imam Mehdi will appear after a year during Hajj. (Hajj al-akbar) in 2011. Is this what we have understood from that lecture or is it true. Please guide us.
Regards
Answer:
Allah swt has said, {The Hour has come near and the Moon has split; But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, “This is (but) transient magic.”}
Imam Muslim narrated from al-Nawwas ibn Sam`an, and also Ibn Majah and Ahmad:
One morning the Prophet mentioned the Anti-Christ (Dajjal), and after he described him as an insignificant matter, he described him as such a significant matter that we felt he (Dajjal) was in the cluster of the date-palm trees.”
So can we say: “Fifteen hundred years have passed since this was said, yet the Dajjal has still not come”? No, we do not dare say it, but if you do not understand the words of an ordinary person reminding you, how then will you understand Qur’an and hadith!
In reply to your question, we say, as Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r) said, “Allah speaks the Truth, Rasul speaks the Truth, and those who remind us of what Allah and Rasul said are Ahl al-Haqq, and they speak the Truth.”
Next year the Day of `Arafat will fall on a Jumu`ah which gives the hajj additional ta`zheem (magnification) and makes the appearance of al-Mahdi (as) at that time – as mentioned in the hadith of Sunan Abi Dawud, and elsewhere, saying Mahdi will accept baya` betweeen the Rukn and the Station of Ibrahim (as) – highly probable.
For those who long for the Ummah to be relieved of its burden and granted Divine help and victory, and for those who read the Signs of Allah described in His Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger (s) it is glaring that we should pay attention to what our righteous elders see, instead of doubting them the way the people of Nuh (as) and all other Prophet-Messengers doubted them, and the Knowers of Allah are the Inheritors of Prophets.
We expect Mahdi (as) from one moment to the next, as our master Mawlana Shaykh Nazim has taught us.
