A Tayyibi Isma’ili friend of mine wants to know how people know there was ijma on the kufr of Isma’ilis, and by extension how people know tangibly verify there was ijma on any subject. Any ideas?

Your friend is, like you and me, a slave of Allah. Let him make shahada, pray and lovingly follow the example of the Prophet and the righteous without regard for titles and labels. They avail nothing.
