Question:
A’udhu Billahi min ash-shaytaan-i’r rajeem
Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim.
As-salamu alaykum
A year ago I came across the concept of a tulpa which is an autonomous consciousness, existing parallel to the creator’s consciousness inside the same brain, A tulpa is entirely sentient and in control of their opinions, feelings, form and movement. Only the creator is aware of its presence.

Please forgive me for wasting your time with such issues but I can not find an answer anywhere else.
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
There is nothing specific in Sharia that would make the tulpa not permissible; however, it seems to be dangerous from an Islamic spirituality perspective. From the sources you provided it suggests that the tulpa was practiced pre-Islamically and may involve magic. These types of practices are generally frowned upon and discouraged to say the least.
The important question is to ask yourself what is it about tulpa that attracts you and why do you believe an un-Islamic practice is necessary? Is our path not sufficient for you? Or have you not found something in our path that satisfies that particular need?
We encourage you to read more about meditation or muraqabah and other practices that are recommended by our Shaykhs which are much more powerful in terms of generating spiritual power and progress.
May Allah illuminate your path and keep you from danger.
And Allah and His Prophet know best,
