Question:
Shaykh GF Haddad quoted Abul-Arab at-Tamimi as saying:
Abu’l-‘Arab said, “When Ibn Abi’l-Jawwad was dismissed, Sahnun said, ‘O Prophet, appoint to this community the best of it and the most just,’ and he was the one who was appointed after him.”

Could I have more details on the source of reference to this ? Is it reliable?
Answer:
Your information is wrong, I am not the author of that translation; rather, its source is here. Secondly, the sources clearly say that Suhnun’s du`a was: “O ALLAH, appoint to this community etc.” so it is a blatant mistranslation.
