I need to know if Muslim wears a black magic taweez does that make one a kafir and is it shirk too? Can Allah forgive? I need to know if Muslim asks non-Muslim jinn for help does that make one a kafir and is it shirk too? Can Allah forgive?
Answer:
Alaykum Salam,
Sihr entails unbelief and polytheism, therefore the person practicing it commits kufr and shirk. One must repent immediately and stay away from such acts, and fear lest Allah Most High harden their hearts and seals them shut (Allah is our refuge). If one repents and stays away from that, then Allah forgives.
As for using jinn, the believing jinn themselves are mentioned in the Qur’an as warning against such practices as it will only increase a person in sin and unbelief. It is categorically impermissible and may also lead to kufr and shirk.
