Question:
Assalam o alay kum,
I posted email to a Salafi and got the following response. Can you bring some clarity to reply to him:
Najdi contradicts the guidance of Islam which tells us that a Muslim’s blood is inviolable except for three cases: the murder of another, adultery, apostasy Wahabi creed teachers:Merely pronouncing the statement “there is no god but Allah” cannot make one’s property or blood inviolable [Fath ul-Majeed-p373-374]
I got reply as what did abu bakar as siddiq (ra) do to the munkir e zakat?
Why are they drawing parallels and comparision of this sort?
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
The three cases are the main ones but the general imam of the Muslims (caliph) has the military right to exact punishment through war for other cases as well, for example if a community refuses to raise adhan or pray janaza or remit zakat and other cases.
