I have a wahabi who asked me how I know Wali Sufi appear to me as if I know he is really or whether it is a Jinn going for him? I know that the Shaytaan can take Anyway less of the Prophet SAWS in this set Sahih Bukhari, but what about taking the shape and go through sahaba, and even awliyah of Allah? as stated in Abdul Qadir Jilani of history who once Shaytan tried to trick him saying it was Allah? Is there any hadith saying that Shaytan can not take the form of Awliya and sahaba? Barakallaahu Fik
Answer:
Shaytan cannot appear on the image of the Prophet (s). Other than that, Shaytan can appear in any form. Awliya are protected from Shaytan (mahfuzhun) but keep in mind that Shaytan was even able to enter Paradise after his disobedience according to some narrations. So yes, Shaytan might be able to take any figure except the figure of the Prophet (s), and similarly, but not impossible, due to their high stations, the Sahaba and awliya. But sometimes he might deceive you, so therefore you have to be very careful because the Anti-Messiah can come in any form, and shaytans are like that as they are his soldiers.
