Can my husband forbid me?

Question:

As salam aleykoum
I live in the countryside and I cannot often do Dhikr in a group. I am invited to a Dhikr taking place in a 3 hour drive from my house and I think going with my son 24 years old, after preparing the evening meal in advance, and sleep in a sister’s home .
Is my husband can forbid me to go there knowing that he cannot go there because he is working?

Answer:

`Alaykum salam,

Yes because 3 hours distance is travel. As Mawlana Shaykh Nazim quotes so frequently from the Qur’an: wa qurna fi buyutikunna, meaning, “O women stay in your homes”. You will have the reward of dhikr and more if you obey Allah, obey Mawlana and obey your husband by staying home and making dhikr there.
