I need guidance and some Islamic Qur’an, hadees and sunnah references to guide my friend. He married an year ago but since that time he is interested in other girls those he meet and those deal him like they love him. There are various girls i.e girlfriends, and now he is trying to get married to another girl from his girlfriends list and neglecting his first and only wife since the day of marriage. He says that my only responsibility is to give her shelter, food and cloth that’s my wife’s rights, & I did not like her and want to marry with my girlfriend. How can I help him and guide him so he will leave this shaitanic act and love his first wife sincerely? His name is [private] but don’t publish his name on the web.

Alaykum Salam,
Allah Most High defined marriage as being for peace of mind and mutual kindness. If someone betrays these ideals in their marriage then they should expect the same from others at some point. Let your friend discuss his marriage with his wife openly so that they can both improve their relationship, or he can seek her permission if he wishes to take a second spouse, or divorce amicably.
