Question:
Asalaamu ‘alaykum
I am in need of some advice. I have had 2 proposals come for me, 1 from a brother i have known for some time and another from a distant relative. I spoke to parents & mentioned how i prefer the first as we have a lot in common, he is also practicing and comes from a small simple family but are of a different caste, whereas the one my parents prefer is not practicing and has no family. My parents requested an istikhara for the one they prefer. Result was negative but they still insist i marry him. I have refused many times and explained who i prefer but they will not change their mind. Is there anything i can do or recite to help my situation? I really do not want to get married to the one my parents insist on.
