Question:
Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatula,
I am mureed of MSN in a desperate situation and need dua and advice. I am in deep problems because of my actions and risk causing a lot of grief and worry for my parents. I am so worried that there is no way out that I am thinking of running away from home, moving to another city. I have so much bad actions and sins I don’t think my dua is accepted.
If I move away, would this count as cutting family ties? I am not angry at my parents, I am so disappointed I cant bear to face their reaction/anguish. Please make dua that Allah rectify my situation and that my parents are always pleased with me and never disappointed with me. I am making plans to move away and live in isolation.
Answer:
Wa’alaykumussalam,
We have addressed this issue before, and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and Shaykh Hisham have taught and admonished us about loving, respecting and honouring our parents. It is enough for us to know that, if we call ourselves Mureed or follower or lover of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, we must honour this noble teaching. Anything less is unacceptable in our Way and our Shuyukh are not responsible for the ill-deeds of the mureeds against their own parents.
This applies to all further issues regarding our relationships with our respective parents. May Allah make us obedient and a joy in the eyes of our mothers and fathers!
