Letter to Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani

Question:

Asalamalaikum wr wb, Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani.

I am a very gullible and naive person and believe in ghaib hearing and seeing. I want to declare that I am not a wali Allah and only a Muslim. I only want to follow Quran and Sahih Bukhari. I am really affraid of Allah. All Bukhari Hadis is sahih because protected by salat isthikarah.

Please forgive my wrong doings to you and all other people that read my email.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

As Allah Most High commanded, we follow and obey Allah and the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace). His hadiths are protected by Allah Most High, not human beings. Allah has given us a way to check what is reliable through the agreement of the Ummah because the Ummah is protected also. And generally speaking the reliable books are what is known as the Nine Books, namely: Muwatta’ Malik, Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan of al-Nasa’i, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and al-Darimi, and Musnad Ahmad. You should also be reassured that we are in good hands.
