Adhan near the grave of newly buried

Question:

Salam u alaykum warahmatullah,
I am a Muqallid of the Shafi`i Madhab, and i wanted to know, what is the ruling in our Madhab regarding “saying adhaan near the grave of the newly buried person”? Many Hanafi scholars, including Imam Ahmed Rida Khan said that it was mustahabb, but what is the mu`tamad opinion in our madhabb. Is it haraam or makruh?
was salaamu alaykum

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

The Hanafi school considers saying Adhan near the grave in general as a bad bid’ah as it was not the practice of the Salaf as-Salih.
