Say lawful unto you are all things pure; and what we have taught your trained hunting animals catch in the manner directed to you by Allah; eat what they catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it; and fear Allah; for Allah is swift in taking account”
Question 1: what is meant by – “catch in the manner directed to you by Allah” – is there a certain way the prey must be caught by the hunting animal?
Question 2: I am assuming this applies to any animal taught to hunt – falcons, dogs, cheetahs, etc…

You are right. If a trained animal (dog, bird etc.) causes such injury to the animals being hunted, causing in this way its death, then such an animal is Halal.
