I have always been advised as a follower of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat that it is absolutely essential that I pray behind an Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat when in congregation. I understand and accept this. I wanted to know if this applied to the consuming of Halal Meat. In the UK there is a strong emphasis on eating Halal Certified Meat (for example ensuring no stunning to the animal has taken place). But what if the Meat has been slaughtered in the correct manner, but by someone following the Wahabi school of thought for example? Is that Meat Halal?
wa `alaykum salam,
As long as Muslims slaughter in the name of Allah, it is Halal without a doubt.
