Living with Hindu In-laws

Question:

Asalaam alaykum,
I am due to be married to a convert Muslim who was raised a Hindu. His elderly parents accept that he is a Muslim and are willing to be very accommodating to me so that my religious beliefs are not compromised. My future in-laws would like us to live with them after marriage and so does my fiance, Is this permissible? They are vegetarians but after listening to a recent video by MSH where it was said it is haram to show a Hindu lady your hair or even eat vegetarian food prepared by her. I am now worried and confused. In a recent dream which I had MSN and MSH consent and give their blessing on my choice of husband to be.

Thanking you in advance

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam,
Explain to him that you understand and respect the duty he owes to his elderly parents but that your own position demands separate quarters and your own kitchen space as well. If he is able to provide that then covering is also feasible. Mutual agreement and respect of all will bring blessing and heavenly support in sha Allah. Otherwise they will also understand that you have to protect yourself from the harm of an impermissible situation. And Allah knows best.
