Nikah Mutaah

Question:

Assalammualaikum warahmatullah hi wabarakatuh

Please can u enlighten me and the readers about the validity of nikah mutaah? And what if the bride who has a wali but doesn’t married by his own wali i.e father?

Thank you. Allah bless you all

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

Nikah al-Muta`a is invalid and is tantamount to zina (fornication).
The nikah of a Muslim woman for which other than her father acted as wali is valid if the latter meets the requirements of a wali (including her brother or her son), provided he is:

(a) male;
(b) legally responsible (mukallaf);
(c) Muslim;
(d) of good character;
(e) and of sound judgement.
