Paying interest

Question:

As Salaamu alaykum.

I bought a house last year, and living in a capitilist country, we have an interest based economy. I am there fore repaying a Home bond, but I am also paying interest.

I do know interest is Haraam, but what choice do I have! I am not wealthy, nor am I poor, and I do not intentionally commit this Haraam, but….. Am I veiling myself from my Lord by paying interest. Am I in the wrong?

I pay insurance on this house as well as my car….. what am I to do?
This is suddenly weighing heavy on me.

Please advise me.
