Can we mention saints that have passed away in our prayers like Shaykh Nazim or must we mention his son
Sheikh Mehmet, also how to correctly mention them in our prayers without committing shirk as surah Ghafir 40:60 confuses me

Waalaykumussalam warahmatullah.
We mention all the Awliya from the first to the last in every Salat when reciting the Fatiha (verse 7) and again when reciting tashahhud (`ibad Allah al-salihin).
