I got an email saying having a Quran Khaani(reciting Quran as a group when going to a new house or property) is a bidah. Can you please explain?

The objection is wrong. The recitation of the Qur’an for inaugurating events, new buildings, projects and other occasions is a form of du`a and asking for blessing. It makes Shaytan angry and so he spreads such waswasa to block the reward and Divine support of such activities. They also spread the same lies about dhikr, taraweeh, salawat, ziyara etc., all of which are in reality avenues of major blessings through sunnah deeds.
