Question:
1)What is the origin of Prophet Ibrahim? i’m not talking about religious beliefs. We all know he Is a Muslim. what is he? Arab or Jew?
2) Who or what is the mysterious man who told prophet Suleiman “I will bring the throne of Sheba faster than a blink of a eye, which overruled the ifrit ability who said to bring the throne before standing up?
According to my brother he think that it is a male human (the mysterious man) which Allah gave abilities to show the djinn is not superior , but Allah is Superior. because Allah can gives and make what he want.and I think that is a jinn but he is like Iblis. He is like an Alpha type. one of the first jinn.
But we both don’t know the answer. Who is that mysterious man?
Answer:
1) The Qur’an explicitly states that Prophet Ibrahim (upon him peace)
“was not a Jew” (3:67), and this is obvious since Judaism begins with
Jacob (Israel) who is the descendant of Ibrahim, upon them peace.
According to the book of Genesis Prophet Ibrahim was a Chaldean, i.e.
from Babylon.
2) The predominant identification is the one related from Ibn `Abbas and
Qatada, that the man was Asif ibn Barkhya the scribe of Sulayman, upon
him peace as mentioned in the Tafsirs of Ibn Abi Hatim, Abu al-Layth
al-Samarqandi, al-Baghawi, and others.
