Question:
As salaamu alaikum
Dear brethren
1) Assuming one is on “auto-pilot” and reads Sura an-Nas after the Fatiha in the first rakah (during salah), what options do they have for the second and subsequent rakaats?
2) Also, can one pray with eyes closed if it aids concentration and minimizes distractions ? (My apologies for this second question)

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem
1) If one reads Surat an-Nas after Fatiha in the first raka`ah, he may read other surah in the second raka`ah although it is makruh (disliked) if it is not in sequence . For the third and fourth raka`ahs, recitation of Surat al-Fatiha would suffice.
2) It is allowed to pray with eyes closed as mentioned although it is Sunnah to look at the place of sajdah during prayers.
