Question:
Assalamu alaikum,
My apologies for the directness of this email. I am recently married and have a high sex drive. I would kindly like to know the Hanafi fiqh ruling of these and if we are required to repeat any fasts.
1) Sleeping in the same bed – both partners dressed
2) Hugging tightly
3) Kissing softly
4) French kissing
5) Touching one’s wife’s breasts
6) Fondling with one’s wife’s breasts with a tongue
7) Wife touching husband’s private area with her hand
None of the scenarios lead to orgasm and I appreciate that some are against the fitra of people and spirit of fasting. I would like to know if we are being sinful.

wa `alaykum salam,
A person observing Ramadan fast is not allowed to do anything that will result in ejaculation. To be more precise if a person can control himself he can kiss and hug his wife, but he must prevent intercourse as having it in Ramadan would result in a very rigorous consequence – he (they) must fast for two consecutive months.
