Assalamo alaikum
If a person breaks his/her fast intentionally before the time of iftar, either by eating and drinking or by any unlawful act other than intercourse, is he/she liable to qada only or is kaffarah a must as well?

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,
If one breaks his fast intentionally as you have mentioned , then he has to qada his fast. Kaffarah is only for someone who committed intercourse while fasting.
