Takbir in salah

Question:

Assalamu alaikum

In Hanafi madhab is it obligatory to perform the opening takbir with the tongue? and the subsequent takbirs such as before bowing and prostrating?

Please give me answers for followers behind imaam and praying alone.

Jazakallah khair.

Answer:

The majority of Hanafi scholars maintain that it is obligatory to say any Takbeer in such a way that he can hear himself (his voice) by moving his tongue producing a sound. This applies to all dhikr in any namaz/prayer.

Some scholars are of the opinion that if you moved your tongue and lips in saying the Takbeer that should be sufficient, but it is better to utter it in a voice that you can hear.

Speaking of the opening Takbeer it is very important to know that the followers must not utter their Takbeer before the Imam.
