Dream: A Man Gave me a Fruit

Dream:

786, Peace and Blessings be upon you all at eshaykh.

I am in a little forest (clump) with my mother, green trees everywhere with colourful fruits, bunch of bananas, oranges I think however not matured yet I stop in front of another clump i ask or wish for a matured fruit maybe a watermelon (the word came into my mind) but not yet matured and all of a sudden a tall black man comes very fast (almost abnormally) towards me and he brought me a matured one in my hand and he goes back very fast and he disappears in the forest. My mom asks for one I think but i tell her that he gave me one only. When I woke up I thought it may be a watermelon or a papaya.
Shaykh, what does that mean ? And who was that black man ?

JazakAllah,
WaSalam WaRahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu
.

Interpretation:

Rushing tall forest being is your nafs telling you you are ready to enjoy your desire – perhaps for marriage – while your mother would prefer you to wait, and Allah knows best.

Dream: MSN Kissed the hand of MSH & mine

Dream:

MSN kissed Shaikh Hisham’s hand and then came round to me and kissed my hand after this I fell asleep all in the dream and awoke with coffee with Shaykh Hisham in the room and his wife then i asked if i can sit between them and they agreed but i thought different as i did not want to sit between a husband and wife and decided to sit on the other side of the table but Shaikh Hisham moved a seat which meant even though we were sat round the table the Shaykh was between me and his wife and they both smiled please tell me the meaning.

Interpretation:

Dream points to familiarity and love which dismisses the rules of etiquette.

Dream: Farming Pigs

Dream:

I dreamt of visiting a cousin who is a farmer in real life. I went into his back yard and through it to his farm. I saw a crop of potatoes growing and then to my left was a crop of pigs in a column and there were some running around. I thought of killing these then thought Mawlana does not approve of fire-arms and killing animals in front of others is cruel and haram. I also thought that maybe it is the farmers helping my cousin that are doing it without his knowledge.

I went back into the house, saw his daughter getting engaged and made dua for them.

Interpretation:

In dreams, raising pigs indicates haram income.

Lady Khadija’s (ra) Business

Question:

Assalaamu Alaykum respected Shayukh,

For research and writing purposes, I would like to inquire why and how Khadija (ra) was able to own and inherit property and businesses during the time that women were NOT allowed to (before the advent of Islam in Arabia).

Awaiting your kind reply.
May Allah Almighty forgive me, and bless you. Amin.

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam,

It is true that women did not inherit automatically in Jahiliyya, rather, only mature male children or even adopted children, then the father, then the brother, then the uncle. Husbands did not inherit either.

However, women excelled in many crafts and they were able to own businesses and wealth – including slaves – which they might receive through family bequest or gifts, and they could also choose or refuse marriage proposals.

Well-spoken women could reach the summits of power in Jahili society, as evidenced by Ibn Abi Taher’s (204-280) compilation of the wise sayings of women in Jahiliyya and early Islam entitled Balaaghaat al-Nisaa’. Among them were several renowned women poets such as al-Khansa’ the mother of the Companion al-`Abbas b. Mirdas al-Sulami. al-Khansa’ had turned down the marriage proposal of a very famous and powerful leader, Durayd b. al-Simma.

Repute also was a constituting factor of power as Jahili society had a pervasive sense of shame. Khadija was greatly reputed in Jahiliyya and nicknamed al-Tahira, the Pure One.

And Allah knows best.

[Note: Khadija is one of the four greatest women Awliya of all time and her status is exceptional by definition].

A useful summary on women in Jahiliyya (in Arabic) can be found here.

Dream: Offering Salah

Dream:

Assalam.o.Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuhu,

Please give my love and Salam to Sultan-ul-Awliya (q) and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham (q).

I dreamed that I was reciting Surat-ul-Fatiha and also reading its English Translation. Then I went in a mosque and make wud’u and went to pray Salah. I saw that there was countless people as far as the eyes can see, all wearing white cap/turban and white clothes (including me). I was praying in the middle. But it was not a jama’ah. Everyone was praying individually. May be all of us were praying nafil. My cousin was also in the same row as me and he was trying to follow me in the salah. When I do ruku he also does ruku.

Jazakallah Kahir.

Interpretation:

Walaikum Assalam,

You will have a spiritual opening inchAllah. This dream shows your sincerity in your intentions.

Allah knows best,

Dream: Dog Urinating on Us

Dream:

Salaam,
In my dream I was at a sisters house, and large dog was urinating on myself, and my two sisters. The urine touched my hand and covered my sisters house. A nephew who lives in the house, attempted to fight the dog and he said ‘stop trying to hurt my family’.

May Allah bless you, and please make dua for all of us, Inshallah.

Interpretation:

Alaykum Salam,
It represents slander (ghiba) and exposure of people in a way forbidden by Allah Most High and His Prophet, upon him blessings and peace.
