Dream: Light behind a door

Dream:

Assalam alleikum wrwb,

In my dream I was talking to a brother that had noor on his face & I told him I wanted to study to be a nurse to which he said he was a professor in nursing & he could teach me. He was sitting in a bench and to his side there as a room dealing with that career to the far end was an older man with a white head cover like a kufi sitting waiting to enter a door full of light in the other end. If I can understand the meaning thank you.

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

To help and be a nurse and help the elderly would be a positive career for you.

with salams,

Yassir Chadly

Wudu

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum,

In the shafi’i madhab during or after wudu if you have bleeding gum, does that break your wudu?

Salaam.

Answer:

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

Bleeding gums does not nullify wudu before or after making  wudu. You just have to  rinse your mouth and ensure it stops before performing your prayers.

About Hanging Tawiz and Pictures

Question:

As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh
Bismillah

Respected Brother,

I read on your website about Taweez. You have 2 or more picture of taweez. One is in Red and other one is green.
Can you send me the taweez picture, please?

Your document also mentions to hang it. Does that say I have to hang it on the walls(4) and the door and all the windows of my room? Should that taweez picture face outside , if a evil spirit or jinn want to enter through my window. He sees the taweez and he knows he can enter it my bedroom or the taweez should face inside. So when he come, he can’t enter and he doesn’t know how he can enter or what is blocking him to enter.

And another document protectionagainstevil.pdf. You mentioned about a picture of Sultan Awliya Grand Sheikh MSN. That evil can’t look at an awliya face. There is a slight problem. I usually pray in my bedroom and when I have free time I go to the local Masjid. I once heard that we cannot hang picture in a room where people perform Salaat. Can you confirm this saying? Is it true?

Can you also give dahwa of Surah Yasin?

Answer:

Dear brother,

wa `alaykum salam,

You may hang tawiz on walls, and if you have the stickers put them on the windows facing outwards.

Our Shaykhs turn pictures over or cover them at prayer time.

And Allah knows best.

Sayyidina Uways al-Qarani breaking teeth

Question:

The question is regarding whether the story of Owais al-Qarni breaking his teeth out of love for the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) is true or not.  I haven’t found it in the primary sources nor hadith commentaries nor biographical accounts, but could you suggest any books that I should search further in?  I’m not sure where the Arabic source for such an account is.

Answer:

“Know that what became famous on the tongues of the general public that Uways pulled out all his teeth out of extreme sorrow when he heard that the tooth of the Messenger of Allah (upon him blessings and peace) had been harmed in the battle of Uhud – and he did not know what tooth for sure – is baseless according to the scholars; not to mention that it contravenes the pristine Law, hence none of the great Companions did it, although it suffices that such an act is abuse which only fools commit.”

Mulla `Ali al-Qari, last paragraph of his booklet al-Ma`dan al-`Adani fi Fadl Uways al-Qarani.

Authenticity verification required

Question:

Assalam u alayekum !
I was reading a book about the signs of arrival of Syyedna Al Mahdi A.S and it was mentioned in it the following Ulema of Ahl-as-sunnah were of the view that Imam Mahdi A.S had born centuries ago and disappeared and will reappear :
Mulla Ali Qari
Zahbi in Daul-Ul-Islam vol.2 page 115
Ibn e Hajr in Sawaiq e Muharriqah pg 132

and that following believe that Imam Mahdi A.S is the son of Imam Hassan Askari A.S:
Maulana Abdur Rehman Jaami in his book Nafhaat
Sheikh Muhayyudin Ibn e Arbi in Fatuhat Al Makkiyyah chapter 366 while mentioning the lineage of Syedna al Mahdi A.S

Are these references correct? i.e can the information described above be attributed to these persons?
Shukran.

Fal e Qurani

Question:

Assalam u aalyekum !
1-Is it permissible to take faal from Quran (a certain type of Istikharah)
2-Keeping in view verse 230 of Sura al Baqarah, Please explain the verse 232 of Sura Al Baqarah. Apparently what seems to me is that verse 230 emphasizes that a woman after divorce can’t marry the ex-husband without performing halalah and verse 232 is allowing to marry ex-husband after “iddat” without performing halalah. Please explain this matter.
Shukran.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

1- Yes, because the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) said Allah Most High loves tafa’ul and detests tasha’um; however, certain `ulema limited all istikhara to the istikhara prayer.

2- After three divorces the only way to remarry the same woman is for her to have married and divorced someone else first, which is known as halalah. Short of three divorces the latter is not needed.

Advice to learn Arabic

Question:

Assalamu wa aleykum ya Mawlana

Some people say that Arabic is mandatory for the student of religion, then you need to be a Shaykh to speak Arabic? Please could enlighten me about this?

Jazakallah Khayr

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

The following reply was given by an American convert six years ago and may be useful:

— begin quotation —

I. Understand that this is the language of Revelation. Thus, its study should be taken very seriously. The signs of this understanding are the following:

1. A checked intention. Meaning, constantly observe your inner state. I’ve seen a lot of Western students show off their latest understanding of Tamyeez, Haal and ‘Alam. Beware of this quality because the Prophet (sa) said about this person, “The Fire! The Fire.”

2. Have a lot of Sabar. Ibnu Malik (ra) ,the great scholar of grammar, began his famous Alfiyah with the line, “Kalamun Lafthun Mufedun Kastaqim.”

Kastaqim.” Means to be firm and upright. He opened his blessed poem with that line to say to the student, “Istaqim [Straighten yourself] upon the learning of this language.” In other words Arabic, if you really want to grasp its secrets, is not hard, but takes time. The Ulema used to say, “The entrance to Arabic is hard and its exit is easy.” Thus, don’t try and over do things. Once a man had studied for 19 years. He said, “I’ve failed to become a scholar? What have I learned?” Finally, he decided to leave being a student of knowledge and went back to his village. He sat on a stone well and noticed the rope that held the bucket had worn its way through the stone well. Suddenly he realized something and said to himself, “Seeking knowledge is like this rope. It takes time, but with sabar and focus, a rope can rub through stone.”

3. A lot of supplication: Allah says, “(Allah) He taught men expression.” Thus, you must beg Allah to give you this language. Remember that learning this language is a means of improving your servitude to Allah. Thus, implore Allah to give it to you.

II. Learning Arabic has a few components:

1. Nahu, Balagh and Sarf (these are the internal organs of the language), however, know, may Allah have mercy on you, that learning these sciences will give you a technical understanding of the language. Especially if you learn from the Mutuun in the begining. Thus, most teachers advice a student to start with more basic books, who are current in content, and then later move on to the Mutun.

2. Speaking, writting and expression: This is usally the last thing to come. But, once one has it, they should praise Allah in abundance because they are expressing themselves in the language of the Qur’an, the language of the Prophet (sa) and the language of Ahl-Janna.

I would advice our brother to begin and communicate with others as often as possible. Although you’ll make mistakes, and we all do, keep trying. Once, I was sitting with a group of Malaysian students from Al-Azhar. They were very strong in the Arabic and I noticed that they only spoke Arabic. I asked one of them, “Mashallah, what is going on with you brothers?” He told me, “We love to make mistakes in Arabic more than speaking our own language correctly.” Thus, you must practice practice practice. What you fail to use, will fail you when you need it.

III. As for your study I would do the following:

1. Leave the classical books until you can understand them and read them with a teacher. The best books I’ve found for learning how to talk are, believe it or not, children’s books. Their language is always great and there are a lot of conversations which will serve as a great assistant for you in the future.

2. Use a common text book that teaches Arabic such as Kitabul Asassi, the University of Madina series and many others.

3. Try to study in a center in an Arab country. It is very important to remember that a language is a culture. Thus, while living in the culture you will learn the expression of the language in its natural state.

4. Work hard.

Finally, I would try and memorize some Qur’an and Hadith. Both, and the Qur’an more so, are a means of giving you fasaha [Arabic eloquence].

Allah knows best.

— end quotation —
