Dream: about Maulana Syakh Nazim

Dream:

Assalamualaikum ya Shaykh.

I dreamt that I was in a room with Maulan Syakh Nazim. He was resting on a long chair, surrounded by the other mureeds. It seems that one of his legs is hurt. Having learnt reiki healing before, I offered to help the healing. MSH stopped me. He smiled and said, “No. No need healing.”

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is telling you, by saying “no healing” that Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is in the station of utter submission to the Divine Will. He does not ask for anything and accepts whatever comes to him.

and Allah knows best,

At crossroads in life

Question:

Salam my shaykhs may you be blessed for ever. Forgive my lack of adab.

I’m at a crossroads in my life. I want to follow my religion but I can’t because I need money, so I work. I’m not in school because I can’t afford it. I can’t get financial aid because my dad won’t file his taxes. I can’t move out because my immigration has been denied.

I want to join the military back in my country but I would have to leave my family. Ultimately, I want to pursue my deen. But no matter which path I take it seems I will close something off. My religion means a lot to me and if you advise me to take that route, I don’t care what I leave behind, I will do it. Please help me Mawlana Shaykh Nazim[q]. Please pray for me and perform istikhara for me. Salam.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for you to be directed to what is best for your afterlife.

Dedicating oneself to Allah is not, as we murids often imagine, to drop everything and go live in the dergah, sit in the corner making our wazifa and reaching high levels of spirituality. Spirituality today means to do one’s work or study well, and then to devote part of what you earn to Allah swt. Daily, it means observing one’s duty to family, neighbors, colleagues, employer, etc. while at the same time remaining conscious of Allah in every state and station. The Naqshbandi maxim goes, “Dil ba yoru dast ba kor” – “The heart with God, and hands at work.”

Requesting Help/Guidance: Suffering From Lust

Question:

Asalamu Alaykum,

I have been trying to quit masturbation for quite some time but have failed to do so. Alhamdulillah I managed to abstain for 29/30 in the last 2 months and have never felt so chaste in years. I managed to be chaste for 29/30 because I had 2 wet dreams during those days and then they stopped and I lost myself.

O blessed Mashaykh kindly perform Istikhara for me or guide me how I can rid myself from this addiction, weakness, illness and possibly impotence it may have caused all these years and have more wet dreams because they helped and are natural. I fear this addiction may someday effect my marriage.

Pardon me for Bad adab, Jazak’Allah Khayran
Awaiting your reply with much eager.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for you.

Ending addiction is step-by-step. If you take two steps forward, you may take one backwards, it is almost inevitable. Each time, repent, turn to Allah, and seek His Help, through the intermediary of Sayyidina Muhammad (s).  Allah loves those who turn to Him.

Make intention to marry as soon as it is feasible and ask Allah to open that door for you. Meanwhile fast as much as possible as this reduces desire and battles the nafs.

Sadaqah niyat

Question:

i made a promise to spend total amount of my first salary which was supposed to be 10,000 on a good cause for the satisfaction of allah and for his forgiveness and protection, but due to some reasons i only got 1,000 which i spent as i have promised. Now my next months salary would be 10,000 hopefully. Is it mandatory to spent my next months whole salary too…to fulfill my promise…please advice as soon as possible.

Answer:

Actions are by intentions. You fulfilled your promise by spending the whole paycheck, finished, insha-Allah. If still in doubt pay some part of your next check and each one after until your heart is at rest (tamaneenah).

about turban in several occasions involving general public

Question:

Assalamu’alaykum,

As taught to us (although I’m female), using the turban is a Sunnah for men. However, I noticed that there were several occasions where the arrival of Mawlana in our country, men are encouraged not to use turban at events involving the general public, except for Mawlana and his entourage. The reason is to avoid giving the impression of exclusivity to the general public.

Please give us clue, whether it is an order of Mawlana or just the event organizer’s worries. My brother and some friends were confused since they are learning to implement the Sunnah to wear turban.

My apologize if there is any flippancy and please pray for us to be better in loving Prophet Saw through Sultanul Awliya and Mawlana. May Allah bless Sultanul Awliya and Mawlana with more light and love.

Please kiss Mawlana’s hand for us.

Jazakumullah khoiron katsiron.

Wassalamu’alaykum wr wb.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

There is an Arabic qaida, rule, that al-amru fawq al-adab – “To obey the order is better than following the known way of discipline.” What this means is, if the leader of the group or jama`ah, who is undoubtedly not putting his own opinion, requests certain behavior, dress or activity, then that should be followed. If he wishes, he may explain, and if not, one should trust his judgment, unless a clear conflict occurs with Islamic law, and Allah knows best.

Once we attended a large Mawlid celebration with Mawlana Shaykh Hisham. One of the group had no beard and no turban but Shaykh Hisham asked the organizers to put him in the front row of the procession marching through the streets of a British town, reciting praise of the Prophet (s) . The many mashaykh in the front row were displeased, and one objected saying “he has no beard!” Shaykh Hisham replied, “His beard is inside, leave him,” meaning he may not have the outer-wear but he has the inner qualities to qualify him to stand in the front row of mashaykh praising the Prophet (s).

In this particular case, it is common for our mashaykh to reduce causes of “difference” and the feeling of strangeness in public events where newcomers may not be aware of the sunnah.  Later, as they become closer, they will be naturally introduced to these ways.

Qur’an karem and Rabita

Question:

Salaam alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakaatuh,
What is the difference between Reciting the Quran majid and making meditation with the Shaykh.after having learned about the benefits of both,it appears that both should have or do have the same outcome.is there some difference in doing rabita?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Each has its purpose and benefits. It is like asking “should I pray 2 raka`ts nafl or recite one page of Quran?”

In fact, rabitah with the Shaykh can be made before any form of worship and will be a cause for much more intensity, spiritual focus and perfection, for as one’s rabitah increases, it becomes more and more the Shaykh peforming the worship than yourself as you dissolve in his presence.  After all our beloved Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad (s) was the Quran walking, the embodiment of the Quran, the Quran’s  appearance in life, and similarly are our mashaykh, and Allah knows best.
