I saw a picture on the internet which has Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi and Shaykh Mawlana Hisham ( they were sitting together ).
Who is Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi?
Is he from the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah?
Is it permissible to take information from him?

Jazakallah Khayra

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakutuh,

Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani sits with anyone, especially a guest who comes to visit.

You may read the Wikipedia entry on Gohar Shahi and come to your own conclusions.

Requesting Advice From Mawlana Shaykh

Question:

Asalamu Alaykum Sayiddi,

Sayiddi, six years have passed since the day I came to know of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Q.S and ever since I have been receiving inspiration that I should abandon this worldly life and go to some place remote and continuously worship Allah and praise Sayidena Muhammad (SAW) there.

I feel very peaceful when I contemplate on this matter. I feel as if my body is free from ego, lust and worldly desires during contemplation.

When I ask about my parents? I receive inspiration that Allah created them and that I can’t do anything for them. I will be committing Shirk if I were to think I can do anything for them and that my brother will take care of them when they’ll grow old.

Ya Sayiddi, guide me. Should I say Bismillah and divorce this world for the sake of Allah and Sayedina Muhammad (SAW)? Asalamu Alaykum.

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,
Allah Most High commanded us to “lower the wing of mercy” to parents, and that includes every compassionate care possible. Our great-Grandshaykh Abu Yazid Bistami (q) received his spiritual keys by serving his parents day and night. Holy Prophet upon him blessings and peace called it real jihad and he assured us that as far as a man is concerned his parents are his door to Paradise. Yes you can do nothing for them independently of Allah but He has tasked you to do everything for them with His help, to support your family and raise pious children for His sake, to help your brothers near and far in the foosteps of Prophet and his saints; and that is the real abandonment of earthly life, not monasticism or celibacy.

Prayer Request: Dua for increase rizq to give charity

Request:

Assalamualaikum eShaykh staff

I love very much to give charity and sadaqa and give it often to family and others. However, I feel that my sadaqa is too little to be of significant benefit to anyone and would like to be able to make bigger sadaqa.

Please ask Maulana Shaykh Nazim to pray for me for Allah to increase my rizq that I am able to make bigger and bigger sadaqa which will be of more benefit to others for Allah’s sake.

Wasalam

Response:

`Alaykum as-Salam,
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham will pray for you insha-Allah. However, in spiritual terms the bigness of sadaqa is not measured by outward or material standards. May Allah grant you and us sincerity and truthfulness in our deeds.

University

Question:

Assalm UAlaykum. I will be leaving college next year and I have been asked by my teahcer to tell him whether or not I want to attend university to study further. I am so confused about the whole situation and don’t know what I should do. I hope you can guide me please. I am in two minds. Thankyou. Assalm UAlaykum.

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,
Answering your question depends on many factors, such as your own aptitude or desire to either study more, or enter the job market, or marry and raise a family at this point. You should involve your parents and/or elders who know you best, to advise you and help steer you to the right choice. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s general directive is that a college degree is plenty and one should work and/or raise a family after that. Recite Ya Fattah 100 times daily and ask Allah Most High to show you the right path.

Prayer Request: Marriage lost relative

Request:

Aslaamalaikam, a relative of mine and his daughter were swept away in a river a few days ago. Please pray for their safe return or at least knowledge of what has happened to them. Also I wish to marry a new Muslim revert. She is going off the path of Islam and being led to sin by other people even though she converted in January this year. Please pray that she stays on the path of Islam and that we can both make our journey together In a halal way. Please pray that she takes interest in learning the tenants of Islam. Jazakallah.

Response:

`Alaykum as-Salam,
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham will pray for you and your relatives insha-Allah. Drowning is shahada in Islam, which is one of the highest levels for non-Prophets.

Dream: Newborn baby reciting la ilaha ilallah

Dream:

I saw a dream today that I’m in my grandparents house, and I’m holding a beautiful newborn baby in my arms. Apparently the dream indicates he’s mine. Then I see he is walking and running fast (which is impossible for a newborn baby to do) towards my mother and says the name of the boy I wish to marry (I did iskthara about him and it has come positive many times. The boy’s parents want us to get married. He likes me but nothing has happend yet. He doesn’t want to get married) Anyways the newborn baby is running and says his name really loudly. I then hold him and look at my mother as in suprise. He said that boy’s name and then I sat him on my lap and he got up again and started reciting la ilaha ilallah loudly :)

Interpretation:

He will propose soon insha-Allah, focus on your dhikr and peace of heart.

how could I found out in which sector I could/should work

Question:

I didn’t find work in UAE. People in Damascus/Dubai help me searching work. I’m afraid I wouldn’t get along with work!
I don’t have experiences (no special training), I am slowly and have problems with concentration, I am not talented. Somebody in Dubai search for me a job as a supervisor in a school, somebody else ask in the ministry of religion and in German and Austrian companies but I feel nothing happen…
If I’ll return to Damascus I could work in a factory with small
salary but my friends would pay the rent of a flat but should I/they do that? There is also another crazy offer. A Syrian owner of a stud farm want me to teach how to train horses
(as a job) but I don’t have experiences with horses!
HOW COULD I FIND OUT IN WHICH SECTOR I COULD WORK??? AND WHAT MY TALENTS AND STRENGTHS ARE???

Answer:

Make a decision to take the first good position that is offered to you and make the best of it. Focus on your positive sides and trust in Allah. Do not return to Damascus at this time.
