Is it true that sons have a right to inherit more from their parents will than daughters ? Jzkallah Khair
Answer:
As-Salamu ‘Alaykum,
Men are not superior to women and women are not superior to men in Islam. Allah Almighty makes it perfectly clear that those superior are those who have more taqwa (God fearing, consciousness). In Islam, men and women do not have equal rights, but their rights are different because of their nature. Rather we can say their rights are equally-balanced.
Islam believes in equality between men and women – Equality does not mean identicality.
As regards inheritance, Allah said:
{Allah (thus) directs you as regards your Children’s (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females} (Surat an-Nisa, 4:11)
