I always open the Quran and this morning I opened it and it had a red mark near a verse, what was that red mark?
Answer:
Some mus-hafs have a system of markings connected with modes of recitation and/or meaning. This system is usually explained at the beginning or the end of the mus-haf. Colored mus-haf are usually those with an elaborate scheme for perfecting correct recitation (tajwid). Ask your Qur’an teacher to explain that particular sign to you.
