Christian saint’s grave

Question:

salam,

In our region, on top of a mountain, is the grave of a Christian saint of the 7th century, Sainte Odile. I often find myself there without knowing how. I feel attracted but I’ve never visited her since she was Christian. Is it allowed for muslims to visit them? If yes, with what intention?

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

It is recommended to visit graves to the intention of reflection on the hereafter. As for ancient graves of People of the Book, Mawlana said he likes them because there are greater chances that there will be actual pious Muslims among them, who themselves love such visits, and Allah knows best.
