Escaping the prison

Question:

As-salamu aleykum! 786
Let us say, the basic structure of an imprisoned nafs is, that it wants something, which “is not”, while the purified nafs wants, whatever the creator wants, that means, whatever “is”, cause whatever is, is by the will of the creator – right?
Now, when we apply any prescriptions of the scharia or the sunna to our own lifes, in a way, that we say “It should be like this!”, while it “is not” -don´t we get into a kind of the same prison, that we were living in before, when we said “There should be this! There should be that!”
What is the solution?
How can we apply divine prescriptions to escape our ego-prison, without falling in new (astaghfirullah) “religious prisons”?

Answer:

`Alaykum as-salam,

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (Allah sanctify his soul) has repeatedly answered similar questions by stressing dhikr, and all the masters said that the surest sword against the fetters of the enemies of mankind (nafs, hawa, dunya, shaytan) is dhikr, dhikr, and more dhikr, standing, sitting, reclining, in private and in public, individually or in a group, aloud or silently, night and day, in sickness and in health, etc. So in order to implement this, suhbat and jama`ah are indispensable and knowledge of Quran and Sunnah invaluable.
